"I'm just tired. I don't have any mental health issues." That's what Major Pat Henneberry (Retired) and others told themselves when they returned home from the Balkans. For years...decades...he buried and concealed the details about what he had done and experienced, including killing a Bosniak soldier with his bayonet. Today he acknowledges, "I wasn't right. I wasn't just tired...I would not be alive today if I had not gotten [mental health support] when I did." This is an excerpt from his longer oral history interview for the Balkans 35th Commemoration.
