United Nations Military Observers (UNMO) are military officials deployed by the United Nations to support UN missions or peace-operations. They are tasked with monitoring and assessing post-conflict agreements, such as ceasefires, military withdrawals, and buffer zones. UNMOs undergo special training to ensure neutrality, diplomacy, and de-escalation techniques. They monitor ceasefires, withdrawals, and demilitarization, conduct ground, sea, and aerial patrolling, and help resolve local difficulties. UNMOs are essential for providing real-time information and assessments to the UN Security Council and other stakeholders involved in peacekeeping efforts.
