Two fellow UNMOs in Sarajevo had their vehicle shot up on 13 Feb 1992 but luckily, they were driving one of the new armoured GMC Suburban. We had many UNMO vehicles damaged by direct or indirect small arms and artillery and we were very grateful for the Suburban. However, for those UNMOs not used to winter driving these heavy vehicles could be a challenge.
