The European Community Monitoring Mission (ECMM) was established in 1991 to oversee the ceasefire agreements in the former Yugoslavia. The mission was responsible for monitoring the withdrawal of the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) from Slovenia and other regions, facilitating contacts between different factions, and working with humanitarian organizations.
